Requiem of an Archdevil

Book One of the Chronicles of Life Series

Faced with execution for treason, Babel, the decrepit First Commander of the devils’ army, forms an alliance in detention with an unorthodox doctor, Rimmon. Babel undergoes psychotherapy to rejuvenate to his former strength, lead his army to victory at the ongoing Armageddon battle, and eventually supplant Lucifer as the supreme ruler of the demon’s lowerarchy.

However, Rimmon soon realizes that his patient’s mind is more complex than he bargained for. Babel’s cure is intertwined with Shiloh. Shiloh, whom Babel admired. Shiloh, whom he despised. Shiloh, his supreme adversary, but the one he was commissioned to terminate. Shiloh, who happened to be the Holy Ghost to the demons’ cluelessness. As Babel’s spirit revisits the past through therapy sessions, a chronicle of love, jealousy, hatred, and betrayal unfolds.

Richard was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He was fascinated by storytelling from a young age. After completing a bachelor’s degree in Law, he aspired to become an actor and screenwriter.

However, most of the feedback from his scripts suggested that his writing style was that of a novel. After a decade of trying to prove the movie industry wrong, he finally took their advice and began writing his first novel Requiem of an Archdevil.

“Where Are You?” was a play intended for my church for Christmas Eve. The story focuses on broken relationships within three generations: father, son, and grandson. The primary relationship is between Rev. Paul Baxter and his adopted son, David, who is involved in crime. A major confrontation between father and son provokes a feud that leads to a seven-year-silence. Seven years later, he receives a phone call from the police advising his son has been severely shot, and he’s resting in a hospital between life and death, waiting for his second surgery.

The play focuses on their first conversation after seven years. So many things need to be said. But there’s little time. If David survives this, he will probably go to jail.
